For many families, summer can seem like the season that will work best with their schedule to get their windows replaced. Having the time off of work or school can seem like an advantage, but the truth it that for most homes, window replacement takes less than a week. In fact, many homes can be completed in a day.

Besides accidental damage, the second most common reason that people have for wanting to replace their windows is to improve their energy efficiency. In a warm climate like Alabama, that means the potential to save hundreds of dollars on your air conditioning costs. A lot of homeowners tell us their new windows pay for themselves in a matter of years.

Because of this, a lot of homeowners decide in the middle of summer that they want new windows right away. While our company certainly does a lot of rush jobs, we recommend deciding on new windows before the summer heat comes. If you want to save money in the summer, get your windows replaced in the winter or spring.

Finally, we get a lot of questions about whether or not the outside temperature affects installation. While it is true that extremely cold temperatures can affect the bonding adhesives that we use, we rarely get temperatures low enough in Alabama to be a factor. In the rare event that we do, we will call and reschedule an installation.
