Objectives
To give a complete facelift to an old weathered wood deck by installing new composite deck boards, new vinyl hand rails, and a new composite stairway.
What we did
Mr. and Mrs. Hyde had an old wood deck on the back of their home that led off their kitchen. The deck was about 15×15 and about 8 feet off the ground. The deck structure was sound but the deck boards, the handrails and the steps were in really bad shape- very old and faded, very splintery and nail heads were popping up everywhere. The customer could no longer enjoy their patio space- until they called Durante Home Exteriors.
Our Decking consultant inspected their deck and came up with a cost-effective solution to give a total facelift to their old deck. He discovered that although the deck boards, stairway and hand rails were in really bad shape, we could still utilize the existing deck structure, which was still in sound shape since it was protected from the elements. This ended up saving the customer a lot of money since we did not have to rebuild the entire deck.
Durante’s deck installation team efficiently replaced all of the old weathered deck boards with durable new Ipe-colored composite decking, replaced all of the dreary looking hand rails with maintenance free vinyl railings, rebuilt their stairway, and installed an attractive gate so their small dog could stay on the deck without “going to explore the neighborhood.”
The Results
Complete transformation! Mr. and Mrs. Hyde are STOKED about their new deck. They absolutely LOVE the end result! Now, Mr. and Mrs. Hyde can fully enjoy their outdoor area, have friends and family over, grill out etc. Basically start enjoying their deck like they had always dreamed.
